Mrs. Sadie Lee Young Smith, 87, formerly of Yates Road, Liberty, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Whiteoak Estates in Spartanburg.

Born in Pickens County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Henry Cooley and Julia Townsend Young and a special mother, the late Birdie Jaynes Young. Mrs. Smith was formerly employed by Sangamo Electric and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Smith Ragsdale of Spartanburg and Montez Smith Whitfield of Picayune, Mississippi; one son, Wallace Lallen Smith of Liberty; two brothers, Milton Young of Easley and Franklin D. Young of Tyler, Texas; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband, Charles Wilton Smith; a son, Charles D. Smith; five brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Tina Smith Brown.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Wednesday at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Reverend Doug Goss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Escort of Honor will be the Granddaughters and Great-Granddaughters.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home ~ Downtown Easley where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM and will be placed in the church at 2:00 PM Wednesday.

Family members are at their respective homes.
