Sallie Ward Elrod, 73, of 119 Whispering Maple Drive, died at her home on Thursday, December 31, 2009.
Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Nettie Ladd Ward. Mrs. Elrod was a seamstress and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Elrod is survived by two daughters, Debbie Bryant and husband Dewayne of Liberty and Tammie Atkinson and husband Warren of Easley; four grandchildren, Lesslie Whitfield (Johnny) of Anderson, Josh Bryant (Nicole) of Liberty, Stephanie Atkinson of Boiling Springs and Jake Atkinson of Easley; three great-grandchildren, Courtney, Bailey and Christian Whitfield; eight brothers and three sisters.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elrod is predeceased by her husband John Calvin Elrod and a son, Rodney Calvin Elrod; one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Easley.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the service.
The family is at their respective homes.
