Sally Kirkland Brown

Sally Kirkland Brown, 85, of Pendleton, wife of the late Willie Merritt Brown, passed away July 27, 2022.

Born in Coffee County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Willie L. and Ethel Lewis Kirkland.  Mrs. Brown received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia and was a Kindergarten teacher and Social Worker for many years.  She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, music, and decorating.  Her greatest joy in life came from the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughters, Dawn Compton (Chris) of Seneca, Jane Isbell (Randy) of Pendleton, and Ann Mills (Keith) of Pendleton; daughter-in-law, Wanda Shirley; grandchildren, Josh Martin, Seth Martin, Holly Dunn, Jared Isbell, Jason Isbell, Heather Seyle, Brent Shirley, and Justin Mills.  She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Brown was predeceased by her husband, parents, son, Joseph Shirley; grandchildren, Joseph Matthew Mills and Crystal Dawn Martin; brothers, Clyde Kirkland and Jim Kirkland; sisters, Martha Bateman and Sarah Etheridge.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
