Sam Milton “Milt” Cox, 86, formerly of Lloyd Avenue, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Richard Campbell Veteran's Home in Belton.


Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Sam and Oza Lee Hendricks Cox.


Mr. Cox was retired from Michelin Tire Corporation. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Bates Masonic Lodge #189 A.F.M. and was a US Army Veteran.


Surviving are his children, Sam Milton Cox, III (Shirley), Danny Lee Cox and Becky Cox Hill all of Easley; a step daughter, Barbara Cobb of Seneca and a sister, Jessie Lee McNeil of Charleston.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret E. Cox; his second wife, Mattie Lou Lockaby Cox; his third wife, Jessie Duncan Cox; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Cox; a step son-in-law, Barry Cobb; a brother, F.T. Hill; a step-daughter, Evelyn McCoy; and a sister, Lutty Flo McGaha.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.


The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, 417 Rutherford Street, Greenville, SC 29609 or the charity of one's choice.


The family will be at their respective homes.
