Sam Hanvey, Jr., 81, of 121 Holly Avenue and husband of Lucille Dyar Hanvey died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Hospice House of Anderson.

Born in Toccoa, GA, he was a son of the late Samuel R. B. and Pauline Price Hanvey.

He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, a member of American Legion and Trinity Wesleyan Church. He was the former co-owner of Southern Printing Company of Pendleton and was a former Wesleyan Minister.

Surviving are his wife of the home; a daughter, Karen (Bojanovic) Penley and husband Lyle of Anderson; a son, Mike Hanvey and wife Teresa of Anderson; brothers George Hanvey of Walhalla, Bill Hanvey of West Union; sisters Carolyn Pearson of West Union, Pat Smith of Seneca and Gail Keaton of Anderson; 7 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Madge Robinson, Martha Davis and Betty Martin and a brother, Morris Hanvey.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Wednesday at Trinity Wesleyan Church with burial including full military rites to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.

The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.

The family is at the home.
