Sam Dalton Willis, 73, of 8269 Coachman Lane, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.

Born in Norris, SC, he was the son of the late William Herman and Mary Dalton Willis. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was retired from Duke Power where he worked as a powerhouse mechanic and a weld inspector. He was a member of First Baptist Church, of Norris.

Surviving are a son, Randy Willis and wife Lisha of Liberty, SC; a daughter, Jennie Minyard-Buckley and husband Dean of Seneca, SC; a sister, Katherine Phillips of Destin, FL; and three grandchildren, Lacey Willis Crowe of Franklin, NC, Judson Minyard, III of Greenville, SC, and J. Mackensie Buckley of Seneca, SC.

A memorial service will be 3:00 PM Friday, at First Baptist Church of Norris with Reverend Royce Addis officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Friday at the church.

The family is at the home of the son, 1212 Chastain Road; Liberty, SC 29657.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tate Masonic Lodge #292 A.F.M.; c/o Wayne Swords; 268 Cherokee Drive; Liberty, SC 29657.
