Samuel Richard "Rick" Branan, Jr., 67, of Seneca, SC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at AnMed Health in Anderson.

Born in Atlanta, GA, Rick grew up in Vero Beach, FL, the son of the late Samuel Richard, Sr. and Frances T. Branan. He was a 1967 graduate of Stetson University and was a 1st Lt in the US Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Rick enjoyed a successful career in technology sales management and training. He and his late wife, Kaye, also shared a love for antiques and opened Lady of the Lake antiques in Seneca, SC. The former college athlete enjoyed playing softball and basketball, twisting to the oldies, bragging about his three sons, traveling, photography and sunsets.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Katherine "Kaye" Hartley Branan. Surviving are his sons, Ryan Branan of Greenville, SC, Dustin (Bethany) Branan of Minneapolis, MN, and Brett Branan of Minneapolis, MN; brothers, Mike (Jean) Branan of Kissimmee, FL and Ron (Tina) Branan of Vicksburg, MS; sister, Mary Frances (James) Womack of Vero Beach, FL; and companion, Sue Gibson of Clemson, SC.

Memorial services will be 2 PM, Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. James Womack officiating.

A reception will be held following the service at Village Walk Club House in Clemson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
