Mr. Samuel Steward "Sam" Hinkle, 80, of 411 Adger Road, loving husband of Mrs. Betty Jo Webb Hinkle, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Sam was born in Camden-On-Gauley, West Virginia on June 8, 1934. He retired from Platt Saco Lowell and enjoyed numerous vacations to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Myrtle Beach. Sam was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was a member of United Wesleyan Church in Easley.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, Sam is survived by two sons; Allen Hinkle and his wife Faye, and Andy Hinkle, all of Easley; a daughter; Maxine Polatty and her husband Danny of Greenwood; and four sisters; Betty Moss of Sarasota, Florida; Charlotte Shore and her husband Dana, Marg Morgan, and Linda Hammonds and her husband Tom, all of Mt. Nebo, West Virginia. Sam is also survived by four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at United Wesleyan Church. A private family burial will take place prior to the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service on Wednesday.
