Samuel Lavon Mobley, 71, of Waterloo, SC, passed away Thursday May 2, 2013 in Augusta, Georgia from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Mobley was born in Hazelhurst, Georgia, the son of the late Willis Clifton and Blanche Harrison Mobley. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant after serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC.
Surviving are his former wife, Linda Jones Mobley, of Taylors, SC; a daughter, Lynn Abajian and her husband, David, of ElPaso, Texas; brothers, Clyde Mobley (Earline), of Enterprise, Alabama, Cletus Mobley (Margie), of Easley, SC, Ronald Mobley, of Largo, Florida, Joseph Mobley and Larry Mobley (Kathy), all of Ninety Six, SC; a sister-in-law, Lavonia Mobley, of Marietta, SC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Willis Clifton Mobley, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley, with the Reverend Jonathan Shook officiating. Burial with military honors will be private in M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Monday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of his brother, Cletus Mobley, 109 Sellers Drive, Easley.
