Sandi Reames

August 22, 1945 — April 15, 2010

D. Sandra Reames
- Easley, SC

D.Sandra "Sandi" Reames. Born August 22, 1945. Died April 15, 2010. The beloved daughter of the late Benjamin Lake (B.L.) and Eloise Pou Reames. Sandi was born in Johnston, SC, where she attended the Johnston Schools. She was active in the Johnston Baptist Church where she made her Profession of Faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at a young age.

There were five siblings: Marion, deceased, (Emilie Bledsoe) ; William (Frances Horne) ; Frances (Don King) ; Jimmie (Barbara Greene) and Ray (Connie Blease). She was preceded in death by a beloved sister-in-law, Winifred Trotter Reames. A special kinsman to Sandi was a nephew, Brian King.

Sandra moved to Easley, SC in January of 1961 and made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Don King. She graduated from Easley High School in 1963. When a senior, she was selected "Miss Easley High School". Subsequently, she graduated from Furman University and was employed by the Henderson Advertising Agency of Greenville, SC. Later she was an assistant in the Social Services Department of the State of South Carolina.

Beyond family and friends, Sandra was a lifelong friend and defender of animals. She adopted many and saved others from being euthanized. A love of her life was St. Francis, who "talked to the animals". Her sense of humor; candidness, sometimes caustic; and her love of basic goodness and fair-play will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

After years of suffering with M.S., she finally became tired as her heart and body failed her. One of her last statements was, "I'm so tired I want to crawl into the arms of Jesus and go to sleep."

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at Mount of Olives Cemetery in Johnston, SC on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Smile Train, 41 Madison Avenue, 28th Floor, New York, NY 10010 or to Haiti Relief Fund, Inc., 48-D Atlantic Avenue, Lynbrook, NY 11563.
