Sara Lucile Cox Bishop, 101, wife of the late Rev. Hubert Eugene Bishop, Sr., of Easley, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Marion and Mammie Smith Cox.

Mrs. Bishop loved to spend time with her family, and she made each one feel like they were the favorite. She also loved her church family at both Easley First Baptist Church, where she was most recently a member, and at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where she attended for numerous years while her husband was the pastor. Mrs. Bishop loved working with children and singing with the choir. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Union.

Mrs. Bishop is survived by her sons, Hubert Eugene Bishop, Jr. (Joyce) and John Mark Bishop (Ann); her daughter, Carol Bishop Scarborough (Mark); six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband, she is predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Easley First Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00-3:45 at the church.
