Anderson County - Sara Marie Bolding, known affectionately as Marie, passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born on October 20, 1941, in Anderson County, South Carolina. Marie leaves behind a legacy of compassion and love, that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marie dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, in the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Department, at the Children's Hospital. For an impressive 29 years, she selflessly served the children and their families, with unwavering dedication, and kindness. Her commitment and devotion were recognized when she received the prestigious Caregiver of the Year award in 2001, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Outside of her career, Marie found immense joy in spending time with her family. One of her fondest memories was riding around with her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, on the golf cart. Creating priceless moments filled with laughter, and love, especially on the “Ghost Trail” she made by the pond, and feeding the ducks.

Marie's thirst for knowledge led her to earn a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, from the Greenville General School of Nursing. Her commitment to lifelong learning reflected her strong work ethic, and determination, to provide the best care possible for those in need.

Known everywhere she went, for her genuine compassion, empathy, and unwavering honesty, Marie touched the lives of countless people during her lifetime. Her selflessness knew no bounds, as she always put others before herself. Her acts of kindness were a testament to her character, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed paths with her.  She was the example to her family, of what a Woman of God truly is. Each morning, she would start her day by delving into her devotional and Bible readings, finding strength and solace, through our Lord and Savior.

Marie's gentle spirit is survived by her loving husband, Pastor Fred Wilton Bolding, and their daughters, Tammy Turner, and Angela Spake (Glenn).  She also leaves behind several grandchildren: Sarah Marie Smith, Jacob Smith (Jessie), and Lucas Smith (Kaitlyn); Christopher Carlton (Hannah), and  Brooke Marie Barrett (Brody); DJ, Mitch, Adam, and Adrianne Barbrey; Elizabeth Spake; She leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren as well: Carrie Michelle Auman (Ryan); Trinity, Genesis, and Havana Smith; Tinley Smith; Skylin, and Chipper Carlton; Karter Mae, Jackson, and Charlie Barrett; Weston and Waylon Cromer. She will be remembered fondly by her grand-dog Gabby, who spent the last few months by her side.

Marie was predeceased by her parent's, Joe and Annie Breazeale, and her brother, Jewel Breazeale, as well as her step father, Clifton King.

As a Pastor’s wife, Marie assisted her husband in several areas of ministry, including; playing the piano, directing the choir, and teaching Sunday school. She and her husband Wilton held many marriage retreats, and he also assisted her in her ministry, Somebody Cares Support Group.

A visitation in memory of Marie will be held on August 26, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Set Free Christian Fellowship.  It is located at 4415 SC-153, Easley, South Carolina 29642. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place, from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM, at the same location. Marie will then be laid to rest, at Robinson Memorial Gardens, which is located at 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley SC,  at 3:30 PM.

Marie's kindness and love touched the hearts of so many. Her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire generations to come. Though she may no longer walk among us physically, her spirit will forever live on in our hearts, until we meet again!
