Sara Lesley Dillard, 85, died peacefully at her home in Ladson, S.C. on Thursday, February 12, 2009.
Mrs. Dillard was born on October 20, 1923 in Easley, the only daughter of the late Palmer Hutson and Mittie Eudora Cartee Lesley. She lived many years in Hickory Grove, S.C. where she worked in the post office.
Mrs. Dillard is survived by her son, Rudy Dillard and his wife, Brenda; a daughter-in-law, Myra Ables Dillard; and four grandchildren, Anthony Dillard, Amanda Beane, and her husband, Steven, Lesley Dillard, and Logan Dillard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron W. Dillard; her son, Woody Dillard; and her six brothers, Fulton, J.P., Virgil, Theron, Tyne, and Wallace Lesley.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley, S.C. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Escort of honor will be the adult members of Zion United Methodist Church.
Private entombment will follow later.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 432 Zion Church Road, Easley, SC 29642 or Seneca Baptist Church Building Fund, 1080 S. Oak Street, Seneca, 29678 or Hickory Grove EMS, Hickory Grove, S.C.
