Sara Welsh Hendricks Mattison, 94, of Clemson died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Sterling House in Central. She was widowed by her first husband, Thomas Andrew Hendricks and her second husband John Robert Mattison.
Born in Monroe, NC, she was a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Ruth Barksdale Welsh. Sara was a graduate of Furman University and earned her Master of Education degree from Clemson University. She retired from Easley Junior High School and was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Clemson.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughter, Anne B. Hendricks of Pendleton.
An Inurnment service will be held at 10 AM, Monday, June 27, 2011 at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
