Sarah Horton Garvin, 92, wife of Noel Eugene Garvin, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Clemson Downs.
Mrs. Garvin was born in Belton, SC, daughter of the late Charles Mattison and Senie Knight Horton. She was a graduate of Winthrop University class of 1944, and was the organizing Regent of the Col. Arthur Forbis DAR chapter and was active in the Colonial Dames.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, James T. (Mary) Garvin of Richmond, VA, William H. (Felomina) Garvin of Helena, MT, and Walter L. Garvin of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Andrew, Charles and Kathryn Garvin and Kevin and Nathan Howenstine.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Elizabeth Garvin Howenstine, and four brothers, Charles, Pelham, Ozey and J. Edward Horton.
Graveside services will be Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 12:00 noon at Old Stone Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
