Sarah Mae Lyda Hardy, 73, wife of Kenneth Lee Hardy, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her home.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Jim and Oma Elizabeth Leopard Lyda, Mrs. Hardy retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of fifty-eight years, are two daughters, Pamela H. Summey and her fiance' David Dobson, and Denise H. Parker and her husband Thomas; one sister, Doris Reeves of Greenville; grandchildren, Daniel and (Kerri) Summey, Brittany H. (James) Lang, Johnny Moffitt, Madison P. (Joseph) McKenzie, and Morgan Parker; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Conner Moffitt. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardy was predeceased by seven brothers, James, Clarence, Edward, J.B., Kenneth, Gerald, and Wallace Lyda; and one sister, Ruby Rollins.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at the M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be immediately following the service at the graveside.
