Sarah Coker Ragsdale

Sarah Coker Ragsdale, 95, of Powdersville, South Carolina, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 16, 2024. 

Born in, Flowery Branch, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late William Clarence and Effie Cleghorn Coker. While working in Atlanta, Georgia, she met the love of her life, Welton “Welt” Clyde Ragsdale. They enjoyed 69 years of marriage until his death in 2015. She graduated from Flowery Branch High School and retired from Stone Manufacturing Company as a Cost Clerk. Sarah was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She had a creative mind as a painter and was an avid reader. Sarah was a member of Siloam Baptist Church where, in the past, she taught Sunday School and was the church librarian. 

She is survived by a son; Travis W. Ragsdale (Kathy), of Florence, SC; a daughter; Janice R. Wilson (Jimmy), of Edgefield, SC; a sister; Doris Watson of Oakwood, Georgia; and three bonus grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in Robinson Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Siloam Baptist Church at 229 Siloam Road, Easley, South Carolina, 29642.
