Sarah Gillespie Smith

Mrs. Sarah "MeMa" Gillespie Smith, 84, of 514 Echo Circle, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 17, 2011 at her home.
Born January 3, 1927 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Lake Ann Barnes Gillespie. Mrs. Smith was a retired seamstress at Carolina Blouse Company and was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church. She loved her family and was a MeMa to many.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, June Smith (Barry) of Belton; four grandchildren, Pam Powell (Willis), Victor Smith (Stacey), Steven Doll, Jr. (Stephanie) and Jennifer Kennedy; five great-grandchildren, Chasity and Kuric Smith, Jared Powell, Trey, Landon, Rylan and Sara Rachael Doll and Jayla Kennedy.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of sixty-two years, Walter Johnson Smith, son, Jimmy Walton Smith, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Pendleton Street Baptist Church with Rev. Zach Shaw and Rev. Scott Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.
The families are at their respective homes.
