Sarah Anne Tankersley, 45, passed away suddenly at her home on July 6, 2023. Born in Anderson, SC, Sarah was the daughter of Becky Tankersley and the late Joe Tankersley. She was a proud graduate of D.W. Daniel High School and Southern Wesleyan University. She then took over the family business and ran Tankersley Services until her passing.
Sarah had many different titles. She was lovingly called “Aunt Sarah” by her nieces and nephews, both biological and “adopted.” She was known as the “Musical Expert” to those who knew of her love of all things music. Sarah loved horses, Harley’s, and harmonizing with her family. She was known as an immediate friend to all, as her kindness and sense of humor made everyone feel at home in her presence. She cherished the titles of daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Most importantly, she had the privilege of being a Christian. She was saved at a young age and grew to have a greater understanding of God’s unfathomable grace throughout her life. Her family and all who knew her were touched by her love for the Lord particularly through the way she loved them and encouraged them to love others.
Surviving in addition to her mother are brothers Brad Tankersley (Lisa) and their children Marshall, Morganne, Rebecca, Graham, Jonathyn, Victoria, Daniel, and Reagann, all of Central; and Jeff Tankersley (Erin) and their children, Taylor (wife Joy and their daughters Ivy and Violet), Anna, and Ben (wife Bri and sons Theo and soon to be born Arthur), all of Georgia; and many cousins and extended family.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 10, 2023, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central, SC, 856 W. Main Street, Central, SC 29630.
Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
