Selma P. Walker

Selma Powell Walker, 82, of Easley, wife of the late Arthur A. Walker, Sr., died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Transylvania County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Roark and Mamie Stewart Powell. She was retired from Mayfair Mills, Glenwood Division, and was a member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Surviving are three sons, William S. Walker, Stewart P. Walker, both of Liberty, Arnold A. Walker, Jr. of Easley; three daughters, Ellen W. Waldrop, Brenda W. Dye, Martha W. James, all of Easley; a brother, John L. Powell of Norris; a sister, Shirley P. Hamilton of Easley; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Walker was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas Powell, J.A. Powell, Wade Powell; and a sister, Alma Tant.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Jones Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Roger Couch and Reverend James Ellenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM on Sunday.
