Seth James
Farrier

Starts at 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Seth James Farrier, 50, of Greenville, SC, entered heaven on October 18, 2026. He was the oldest son of Gregg and Gale Farrier. Seth was a man of determination, quick wit, and a heart that craved connection.
In his younger years, Seth was a gifted and enthusiastic athlete. At Liberty High School, he competed in track, cross country, and baseball. His love of being active extended well beyond the playing field, and he could often be found running or biking from town to town throughout the Upstate. He continued his education at Southern Wesleyan University, where he studied math and computers while also participating in cross country and baseball.
In his early twenties, Seth's life took an unexpected turn when an illness left him disabled, bringing an end to the athletic pursuits he had once enjoyed. Though his physical abilities changed, his love of sports never wavered. He remained an enthusiastic fan of the San Francisco Giants and baseball in general as well as the Green Bay Packers, and football.
Seth had varied interests and an inquisitive mind. He enjoyed theology classes, knitting, and all things food-related, proudly considering himself a bit of a "foodie." He loved cooking whenever he was able and especially loved when the women at church could help him bake something sweet.
Perhaps one of Seth's greatest interests was reaching out and keeping connected with people. He made a point of reaching out to family members. For some, his nightly phone call became a treasured part of their daily routine. Through these simple but meaningful gestures, Seth reminded those he loved that they were never forgotten.
Seth is survived by his mother, Gale Farrier; his siblings, Aaron Farrier (Rachel), Caleb Farrier (Sarah), Kirsten, Leah Marley (Chris); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gregg Farrier and his furry and favorite companion, Charlie.
Those who knew Seth will undoubtedly remember his ornery streak and unique sense of humor. You could never be entirely sure what might come out of his mouth, but you could count on it being memorable and, beneath the mischief, coming from good intentions. He had a way of keeping people on their toes, bringing laughter into ordinary moments, and leaving those around him with stories they would tell for years.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Rd, Easley, SC 29642.
Although life took Seth down a path far different from the one he might have imagined as a young athlete, he never stopped finding ways to participate in the world around him. He will be remembered not simply for the challenges he faced, but for his humor, his curiosity, and the countless little ways he made himself part of others' lives.
