Jacob Ponder "Shad" Nabors, 66, of 1442 Anderson Highway, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Hospice House of Anderson.
Born in Dacusville, he was a son of the late Jacob Ponder and Annie Inez Smith Nabors. He was formerly employed with John Foster Ford for many years and was the owner/operator of Shad's Auto Service. Mr. Nabors loved Ford cars and Ford Racing, and was one of the best auto mechanics around. He loved doing for others, and has helped many, many people.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Dale Black Nabors of the home; a brother, Jerry Smith Nabors of Easley; a sister, Opal Jean Byrd of Easley. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Harold Nabors.
A graveside service will be 3 PM Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Reverend Wilbur Key officiating.
Visitation will be 1 PM until 2:45 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate; 1835 Rogers Road; Anderson, SC 29621.
The family is at the home.
