Mrs. Shelba Tanner Head, 78, of 304 Ross Avenue, Easley, loving wife of Jim Oliver Head, passed from this life on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Baptist Easley Hospital.


Shelba was born in Pickens County on October 1, 1937 to the late Roy Rufus and Gladys Miller Tanner. She retired from the Pickens County School District as a teacher's assistant and library assistant. She loved to spend time with her family. Mrs. Head was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and the Sara Smith Sunday School Class.


In addition to her loving husband of 59 years, Shelba is survived by a son; Jim D. and Lynne Head of Rutherfordton, NC; two daughters; Sherry and Bill Lynch of Greenville and Gena and Andrew Roberts of Manhattan Beach, California; a brother; Johnny Tanner of Piedmont; and a sister; Donna Hall of Greenville. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Matthew Roberts, Ben Roberts, Katherine Head, and Laura Head; and three great-grandchildren; Kirra, Natalie, and Presley.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson; Andrew Head.


Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.


The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:15 PM.


The family is at the residence.


Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 501 Rampey Street , Easley, SC, 29640.
