Shelby Jean Stokes Gravley, 70, of 204 Sharon Lane, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at her home.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Clifton Black and Lillie Mae Whitt Stokes, Mrs. Gravley was a Certified Nursing Assistant having formerly worked with Palmetto Health Baptist Easley and Blue Ridge Living Center. She was a member of Marathon Community Church.
Surviving are her husband, Walter Carroll Gravley of the home; a son, Michael Gravley of Greenville; two daughters, Rhonda Gravley Moore and husband, Jeff, of Mauldin, and Cyndi Gravley Few and husband, James, of Easley; two granddaughters, Jillian Moore of Atlanta, and Carrie Moore of Greenville; a brother, Haskell Stokes and wife, Janet, of Greenville; a sister, Daisy McNeely and husband, Melvin, of Liberty; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Stokes of Easley and Joe Ann Stokes of Pickens. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gravley was predeceased by two brothers, James R. "Bo" Stokes and Charles E. Stokes, and by a sister, Athalea Ellison.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Jack Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Vista Care, Inc., 15 Brenden Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
The family is at the residence.
