Shelvia Jean Nichols, 74, wife of Tommie D. Nichols, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, August 23, 2012. Mrs. Nichols was born December 19, 1937 in Central,the daughter of Edison E. and Beatrice Rollins Chapman. She graduated from Central High School in 1955 and attended Draughon's Business college in Greenville. She worked as a pre-school teacher at First Baptist Church of Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii and continued her work with Kid Stuff of Clemson. She was a member of East Clemson Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Teresa A. McCoy and special friend, Robert D. Renzo, Sr of Central and Sandra A. Lantz and husband Nathan of Central; sister, Juanita Clark of Easley. She was predeceased by grandson, Quinn Anthony Hall.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3pm at East Clemson Baptist Church with burial to follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm and will be placed in the church at 2pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Clemson Baptist Church, 230 Frontage Road, Clemson, SC 29631 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
