Shirley Bradford Blackburn

Mrs. Shirley Bradford Blackburn, 88, of Easley, loving wife of the late Dr. John Gill Blackburn, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Shirley was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 15, 1927 to the late Edwin Russell and Jessica Rita Streetman Bradford. She received her RN from Southern Baptist Hospital Masters School of Nursing, and then attended McNeese State College (now University). She loved to travel, and loved being in the Civil Air Patrol. She even flew solo in an airplane while she was with them. She was a member of Grace Church in Charleston, and attended All Saints Anglican Church in Greenville.
Mrs. Blackburn is survived by two sons; John Bradford Blackburn of Huntersville, NC and Steven Canfield Blackburn of Easley; two grandchildren; Deborah Nicole Taylor and Patrick Dylan Blackburn; and two great-grandchildren; Caleb Cash Taylor and Alexander Case Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2016 at All Saints Anglican Church in Greenville conducted by Father Charlie Carlberg.
