Shirley Phillips Stitely, 77, died peacefully at William Childs Hospice House on Monday, March 9, 2015. She moved to Melbourne in 1956 from Easley, SC.
She retired from Atlantic Scientific after 36 years of service, and from Holmes Regional Medical Center after 20 years of service. She attended Calvary Chapel Church of Melbourne for many years.
Shirley was a loving and devoted mother. Her family includes her daughters, Alice Postlewait, and her husband Jim, of Melbourne, Pamela Harris and her husband, Larry of Melbourne, and Sondra Slater of Palm Bay; her grandchildren, Dwayne and his wife, Heather, Jessica, Robert and Sommer; her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Riley and Adrian; her brother, Charles and his wife Lane Phillips; and her sister, Helen Stubbles. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mona Slater; and her parents, Glen and Ruby Phillips.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642.
Burial and graveside services will follow in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. A reception will follow immediately following the graveside service.
