Shirley E. Wilson passed away on October 14, 2025. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Dublin, GA, on Saturday, October 18th. The family will receive friends at 10am and the service will begin at 11am. Pastor Ritchie Johnson will officiate.

Shirley was born in Six Mile, SC, on December 9, 1934, to the late Baxter C. Edens and the late Dessie D. Edens. Shirley graduated with honors from Furman University, majoring in Home Economics. She was married to her devoted husband, Ronald, for 64 years.

Dublin became their home in 1976 when Ronald joined Southeast Paper Company. Shirley soon began in-depth Bible Studies at First Baptist Church where God impressed upon her a heart to help spread the word of God through teaching 5th grade Sunday school and assisting her husband with ministering to young married couples. They also co-hosted a couple’s prayer group with many dear friends for over 40 years.

Mrs. Wilson was active in her community as a member of the Dublin Service League. For many years, her most rewarding service was volunteering at Save a Life. She was also an avid bridge player and doubles tennis player. She was loved by her family, friends and community.

Shortly after her husband's death in 2019, Mrs. Wilson moved to Clemson, SC to be near her daughter, Rhonda Hensley.
