Sophia Pauline Chapman Smith, 85, wife of the late Lloyd Smith, passed away Wednesday, May 23, at Anmed Health.
Mrs. Smith was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late Freeman and Sallie Reid Chapman. She retired from textiles and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula Turner and Myra Brookey; two sons Michael and Charles "Smokey" Smith; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Smith was predeceased by three sisters, Pearl Aiken, Gladys Holcombe and Ethel Chapman; and two brothers, Alvin and Melvin Chapman.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Easley.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
