Stan Snyder - Easley
Marvin Stanley "Stan" Snyder, 65, of 210 Powdersville Main, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
Born in Liberty, a son of the late Marvin and Margie Summey Snyder, Stan, along with his wife Donna, was owner and manager of Snyder Insurance Agency for over twenty years. He graduated from Liberty High School, and earned an Associates degree at Tri-County Technical College. He was a security insurance licensee and completed LUTC and numerous other insurance courses. He was a member of Palmetto Baptist Church in Powdersville, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the Commerce Club in Greenville. Stan was a member of Gideon International and had made several mission trips to Haiti, Trinidad and the Ukraine, volunteered for the Building Dreams Program for at risk children and has mentored two young men. Stan was the chairman of the Powdersville Tea Party for 2010. He also loved his two dogs, Molly and Millie.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Phillips Snyder of the home; a daughter, Delana Snyder Kendrick (Robert) of Rock Hill; a sister, Sue Dyar (Joe) of Liberty; a brother, David Snyder (Pam) of Easley; brother-in-law, Randall Phillips (Claudette) of Greenwood; nephew, Jim Foster (Renee) of Greenville; nieces, Karla Foster Kuhn (Lloyd) of Greenville and Heather Phillips of Charleston, a great-niece, Rebecca Foster of Greenville, and his mother-in-law, Eunice Phillips Gantt of Easley.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Dr. Jason Ormiston officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
