Stanley “Dusty” W. Wales, Jr., 74, of Easley, South Carolina, loving husband of Janice B. Wales, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home.
Born in Franklin, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Stanley W. Wales, Sr., and Helen Mae Butler. Throughout his career at the United States Postal Service, Dusty exhibited unwavering commitment and loyalty, eventually retiring after three decades of service. Beyond his professional life, Dusty was renowned for his exceptional handiness - a true jack-of-all-trades who could fix just about anything except for modern gadgets like TVs and smartphones. Affectionately called "Dusty" by those closest to him, he will be remembered for his warm and loving nature as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family meant the world to him, and he poured his heart into providing for them and ensuring their happiness. Dusty's hobbies included spending peaceful days fishing, tinkering around in his garage and yard, and cooking his wife a delicious breakfast every morning.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by two children, Billy Wales, of Liberty, and Jennifer Wales Smith, of Taylors; three grandchildren, Jamie Wales (Michelle), Sarah Wales, and Benjamin Wales, all of Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Rhett and Emma.
The family will hold a private service to celebrate Dusty’s life.
