Stanley Patrick Prawdzik, 90, of Willow Place, husband of Myrna Stahlgren Prawdzik, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Glorified Health and Rehab.
Born March 17, 1924 in Erie, PA, he was a son of the late Barney and Stella Gouse Prawdzik. One week after the Pearl Harbor attack, at age seventeen, Mr. Prawdzik enlisted in the US Navy where he served four years. He earned a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and retired from steel engineering in 1983 after twenty eight years of service. Mr. Prawdzik was a dedicated husband, father who loved the Navy, golf and traveling. He was member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife of sixty-nine years, he is survived by his daughter, Martha "Marty" Black (Jim); son-in-law, Larry Reamer; grandchildren, Tara Hutto (Kevin), Bethany Mohs (Mitch), Shannon Schroeder (Jeremy) and Sarah Bring (Tyler); and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Reamer; brother, Joseph Prawdzik and sister, Gen�ve Morse.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 26, 2014 at St. Matthias Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parish hall.
