Stephany Rush Grace

Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Stephany Rush Grace, ended her journey here with us on Friday, January 14, 2022. She began here life in Decatur, IL in 1939, and she enjoyed her pre-school days on a family farm in rural Indiana. Her parents, the late Dr. John M. & Thelma B. Rush relocated to Clemson (along with her late brother Patrick A. Rush), and she began her long connections to Clemson University and its surrounding communities, a relationship that brought her great joy over the years.
She graduated Pendleton High School in 1957, and in 1960, married a Clemson Football player, Ronald Duane Grace, who preceded her in death. Their union produced three wonderful sons: Ronald Duane Grace, Jr. with whom she will be reunited in her next journey, Michael Sean Grace of Escondido, CA, and Joseph Brandon Grace of Salem, SC. Her strong, feisty nature was perfectly suited to the challenging, but rewarding nature of developing three fine young men.
After building strong foundations for her family, she returned to her own education, completing her degree in Nursing at Clemson University in 1978. She would enjoy a nearly 30 year career as a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Anderson Memorial Hospital in Anderson, SC and Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. She loved providing comfort and support to parents as they brought new delight into their world.
The greatest source of pleasure for her would have been her wonderful grandchildren: Alex Grace, Katie Angel, Nicholas Grace, Megan Grace, Steven Grace, Meagan Roach, Alex Holden, and Michael Grace, and her sole great-grandson Teddy Angel. They brought many laughs and smiles to her in life, and she was proud of each and every one of them.
Stephany was a passionate and strong willed lady who was always guided by her love for those around her. Please memorialize her by hugging everyone and telling them that you love them.
