Stephen Lane Betz

Stephen Lane Betz, 55, husband of Melisssa Morrell Betz passed away at Prisma Health Baptist Easley following a lengthy illness.

Stephen was born in Augusta, Ga, the son of Jon Morris Betz of Lakeland, Florida and the late Jean Russell Betz.

He was a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University and earned a nurses’ degree from Tri County Technical College. He was a registered nurse at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca, SC.

He loved to fish and hunt.

He was a member of Restoration Fellowship in Lakeland, Florida.

In addition to his wife, Stephen was survived by his son Daniel Lane Betz and his wife, Amber of Clemson, SC; brothers, Russell Betz and his wife, Ann of Lakeland, Florida and Philip Betz and his wife, Michelle of Lakeland, Florida; and sister, Jonna Betz Wiley and her husband, Ken of Glenside, Pennsylvania.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pendleton, SC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to World Gospel Mission, in care of Tim and Aleyda Spetnagel, 158 Fairview Blvd, Circleville, OH 43112.
