Stephen Bernard Melton, 72, husband of Marsha Ann Miller Melton passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at his home.
Stephen was born in Atlanta, GA, on January 15, 1949. He was the son of the late Paul Bernard and Dovie Marie Durden Melton. He served in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam War Veteran. After completing his military service in 1973, he became a missionary with FEA Ministries to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Following the mission field, he graduated from Hobe Sound Bible College in Hobe Sound, FL in 1986. He was a pastor in North Pole, Alaska at North Pole Missionary Chapel. Following his ministry days, he became a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a member of Alive Wesleyan. He loved hunting, guns, vintage cars, fishing and was a woodworker.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 50 years are two daughters, Michelle (Michael) Rocker of Stuart, FL and Stephanie (Jeremiah) Jones of Central, SC; brother, David Melton of Easley, SC; three sisters, Linda Mosley of Birmingham, AL, Paula Payne of Montgomery, AL and Wanda Nichols of Hobe Sound, FL; seven grandchildren, Brett (Chelsea) Rocker, Nolan Rocker, Shelby Rocker, Nikki Rocker, Gavin Jones, Maleah Jones and Mylan Jones.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Alive Wesleyan.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:50 AM, Thursday prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Dr, Anderson, SC 29621 on Friday 14th May 2021 at 3:00pm.
