Stephen Michael Rogers, 72, of Taylors, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born December 22, 1941 he was a son of the late John Robert Rogers and Beatrice Tucker Rogers. Stevie graduated from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in 1963 and was a very active alumnus. He was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist and Pendleton Street Baptist Church for the Deaf. He retired from Gaylord Container.
Stevie is survived by his sister, Sharon R. Autrey (Steve) and her children, Scott R. Autrey and Shannon A. McNamara (Cliff); nieces, Dana Williamson (Billy), Sherry Pace (Mike), sister-in-law, Ruetta Rogers, and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Phillip (Buck) and C.R. (Bob) Rogers.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the SC School for the Deaf in Spartanburg or to Mt. Airy Baptist Church Building Fund.
