Stephen Mark Tate, 59, husband of Tracy Lynn Tate, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
Born in Easley, he was the son of the late Joseph Bruce Tate and the late Essie McKee Phillips. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who loved riding his Harley, Wren High School Football, Clemson Football, and spending time with his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren. Stephen was a born again Christian and was the apple of his mother's eye. He was the maintenance director at Lakewood Assisted Living in Boiling Springs.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter, Kimberly Tate Wilson (Brad) of Pickens; grandchildren, Brendan, Jeremiah, and Harlyn; a grandchild who is due to be born on Stephen's birthday, Solomon; his only brother, Richard "Rick" Tate of Easley; and beloved cousins, Kathy Tate Ladson and Coach Jeff Tate.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Private burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral service will be limited to family and co-workers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org in honor of Stephen's mother, Essie McKee Phillips.
