Sterling Jean Hill, Sr - a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather - passed away on October 20th, 2023. He was born on August 21st, 1950, in the small town of Nellis, WV. Sterling's passing leaves behind a void that will be felt deeply by all those who knew and loved him.

With a proud career as an area field manager at U-Haul, Sterling worked tirelessly for many years. His dedication and strong work ethic were admirable. He was known his resourcefulness and knack for turning things around for a profit. In his spare time, he enjoyed a passion for grilling out on weekends. Whether it was burgers, ribs, or pork chops, Sterling could always be found whipping up delicious meals for family and friends.

While he excelled in his professional endeavors, Sterling put himself through technical school to pursue his dream of becoming a carpenter. His commitment to self-improvement and his determination served as an inspiration to those around him.

Sterling's personality was marked by his unwavering love and devotion to his wife, Shirley. Theirs was a love story that will be remembered for generations to come. He showered her with affection and ensured she never wanted for anything. To keep her healthy and happy, Sterling built a seven-bedroom home that was allergen-free. Their bond stood as an example of true love and partnership for a long 55 years.

Family meant everything to Sterling, and he treasured the weekends as dedicated family time. Despite his busy schedule, he always made sure to keep his weekends free so that he could create memories with his loved ones - the more, the merrier. Simply having his family near brought him immense joy.

In addition to his wife Shirley, Sterling leaves behind three children: Gene Hill (Tammy), Becky Garcia, and Cindy Hendricks (Tallie). His love extended beyond just immediate family as he adored his 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Sterling's legacy will live on through each generation he touched.

One of Sterling's passions was the restoration of antique clocks. He possessed a remarkable talent for breathing new life into these timeless treasures, making them tick with the same vibrancy as when they were first crafted.

Sterling was born to Robert Garland Hill and Helen Marie Hill, both of whom preceded him in death. Their love and guidance shaped Sterling's character, and their memory will forever be cherished.

In this time of profound loss, let us remember Sterling Jean Hill, Sr., not with tears of sorrow but with hearts full of gratitude for the love he shared. His kind and giving nature served as an inspiration to all who knew him. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, may we carry his spirit in our hearts and continue to emulate his unwavering devotion to family, hard work, and the pursuit of one's passions.
