Stephen S. Nelson, 61, of 1040 Slickum Road, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Transylvania County, NC, a son of Leona Shook Nelson of Easley and the late Charles Nelson, he was a self-employed machinist and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two daughters, Kelly Stephens of Piedmont and Tracy Nelson of Easley; one brother, Joe Nelson; one sister, Charlene Reynolds of Orange City, FL; and four grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, Josh and Laura.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his wife, Jean Powell Nelson.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Revs. Charles Reynolds and Earl Green officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, the Nurses and Staff on the 5th Floor of St. Francis Hospital and the Open Arms Hospice for all of their outstanding care, love and support.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Louis P. Batson Cancer Center, 5th Floor, St. Francis Hospital, One St. Francis Drive, Greenville, SC 29601.
