Born in Greenville, SC, a son of Roy D. and Ellen Garland Matthews of Easley, he was a carpenter and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Melissa Mason Matthews; a brother, Mark D. Matthews and wife, Tracie, of Easley; grandparents, Ben and Lena Garland of Easley; a nephew, Cameron Matthews; and a niece, Danielle Matthews.
Graveside services will be 2 PM, Monday, in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642 with Revs. Howard Addis and Jeff Pangle officiating.
The family is at the home of his parents, 101 Magnolia Avenue, Easley, SC 29642.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
