Steve Doyle Westmoreland, 57, of 103 Kennedy Street, husband of Teresa Marler Westmoreland, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Greenville County, a son of the late George Harold and Bonnie Lucille Harbert Westmoreland, Steve was a man of unquestionable faith. A member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church and the Fisher of Men Sunday School Class, he was an employee of Upstate Carolina Mortgage. Steve was very active in recreation programs in Easley serving as an officer of the Easley Booster Club, was active with the Easley High Baseball Team, a member of the Pickens County Recreation Committee and as a board member of The Big League World Series.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Evan M. Westmoreland and Joshua A. Westmoreland both of the home; two daughters, Amy J. Westmoreland and Ashley Westmoreland both of Greenville; two brothers, George Harold Westmoreland, II, and wife, Virginia Lee of Piedmont, and Gene Westmoreland and wife, Peggy of Seneca; two sisters, Deanne and husband, Gary Durham of Greenville and Sharon and husband, Rev. Howard Addis of Belton; and a sister-in-law, Sherry and husband, Marvin Clary of North Augusta.

Funeral services will be 3 PM, Thursday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Howard Addis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of SC, 900 East Main St., Suite E, Easley, SC 29640, or to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
