A cherished wife, daughter, and aunt, Susan was born on February 26, 1959, to William Grover Smith and Jimmie Ruth Smith. Her life was a testament to love, compassion, and the importance of family.

Her bright light reflected the love of Jesus in her ability to radiate love and warmth to all who crossed her path. She treated everyone with the utmost respect and kindness, disregarding any distinctions of station in life.
Every night without fail, Susan made sure to call her parents by 7:00 PM, a ritual that underscored her deep commitment to family. She poured her heart into planning their 70th anniversary party, creating a joyful celebration filled with fellowship amongst family and friends. Her life was rich with moments spent visiting relatives alongside her husband, filling those gatherings with laughter and love.
An alumna of both Anderson College and Clemson University, Susan’s educational achievements were noteworthy, yet she found even greater fulfillment in her hobbies. From an early age, music captured her heart; she was a talented member of the choir and a skilled pianist. She loved to travel, cherishing adventures in Alaska, Italy, Spain and Santorini, Greece, as well as peaceful moments spent beside the beach. In quieter times, she enjoyed reading her devotionals each morning, often nestled with her beloved cats, Jasmine and Cinnamon.
Susan’s proudest accomplishment was her marriage to Robert Ciofani. She met Bob at a mutual workplace, and from that moment, they knew that God had brought them together for a reason. Their bond was one built on trust, loyalty, and devotion, enriching both their lives immeasurably.
In addition to her husband and parents, Susan leaves behind her stepchildren, Michael and Diana Ciofani, her brother, Mike Smith (Sharon), her brother-in-laws, Richard Ciofani (Sandy), Peter Ciofani (Barbara), and Eugene Ciofani, her Aunt, Rev.
