Susan Elizabeth Abercrombie

d. January 30, 2026

Central, SC

It is with heavy hearts and a wealth of beautiful memories that we announce the passing of Susan Abercrombie, a vibrant soul who lived every day with an open heart and an adventurous spirit. She passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that touched everyone she met.

While she loved to travel, her greatest journey was the one she shared with her family. She found her truest happiness and a steadfast partner in her husband J. Keith Abercrombie. Their bond was built on mutual respect and a shared joy for life’s simple pleasures.

Her greatest source of pride, however, was her son, Kyle J. Abercrombie. She spoke of him often with a radiant glow, celebrating the man he has become and the life he has built with his wife, Kaity. Being a mother was her highest calling, and she poured every ounce of her love into supporting and encouraging him at all stages of his life.

She was the daughter of the late Billy F. McCall, Sr. and is survived by her loving mother, Helen Porter McCall, and her siblings; Billy F. (Bull) McCall, Jr. and Michael Bradley McCall; nephews, Andrew McCall and wife, McKenzie, Alex McCall, Colton McCall; and nieces, Annalisa McCall and Eden McCall. Her greatest joy these last two weeks was becoming a great aunt to Elizabeth Shuford McCall, the daughter of Andy and McKenzie.

Susan’s world truly revolved around her family. She was their most dedicated supporter and a constant presence in the lives of her nieces, nephews and cousins. You could always find her in stands or the front row of an auditorium, cheering at every sporting event and school program. Her pride in their achievements was boundless, and the time she spent with them was her greatest treasure.

Susan’s favorite adventures were spent in Pigeon Forge, where the mountain air and the bright lights of Dollywood brought her endless delight. These trips were made even more special by the cherished friends who traveled by her side. Sharing those experiences with the people she loved made her truly joyful and brought her the happiest of memories. Where they were enjoying a show or simply soaking in the Tennessee hospitality, those moments represented the fun-loving and joyful essence of who she was.

If there was a beat playing, Susan was likely moving to it. A dedicated enthusiast of Jazzercise, she found immense joy in the community, the music, and the sweat. Her energy in the room was infectious, and her commitment to staying active was an inspiration to her fellow dancers and friends alike. The friends she found through Jazzercise became her second family. She cherished the laughter shared between routines and the deep bonds formed through years of showing up for one another. To her fellow dancers, she was a beacon of motivation and a loyal friend who turned every class into a celebration. Her spot on the dance floor filled with rhythmic grace and boundless enthusiasm, now stands vacant and heavy with sadness. While that space may be empty, the echoes of her laughter and the memory of her dancing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her fitness family.

Above all, Susan will be remembered for her extraordinary generosity. She possessed a rare, radiant smile that could brighten the dimmest room and a spirit that prioritized others’ need above her own. She gave freely of her time, her resources, and her love, never expecting anything in return. To know her was to be seen, heard, and truly cared for.

The loss of Susan leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew her. Her absence will be felt in the quiet moments of the morning, the empty spot on the Jazzercise floor, and the cheering sections of her nieces’, nephews’ and cousins' events. While the world is little dimmer without her radiant smile and boundless generosity, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit remains in every act of kindness we perform and every adventure we take.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 7, 2026 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central.
