Susan Bailey Moore

Susan Bailey Moore, 74, of Greenville, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina on August 7, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Lula Mae Bailey. Susan lived a life defined by resilience and devotion, qualities that shaped her not only as a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother but also as a steadfast spirit in the face of life’s challenges. For many years, Susan dedicated herself to her career at Carolina Residential Center, where her compassion and commitment touched countless lives. She was a strong, independent woman who faced every obstacle with a fierce determination that inspired those around her. She didn’t merely endure trials, she conquered them, imparting those same values to her children, nurturing in them the courage and grit that she so naturally embodied. Susan’s love extended beyond her family and work. She had a tender affection for cats, whose gentle companionship mirrored her own nurturing soul. Music, particularly old country tunes, filled her world with joy and memories, a soundtrack to a life rich with laughter, warmth, and celebration. She loved to have fun, embracing joy wherever it could be found, and sharing that joy generously with others. Susan was a member of West Greenville Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Dale Moore (Donna), and Christian Allen Moore; a daughter, Allyson Moore Godfrey (J.J.); a niece, Cristi Willis (Mark); five grandchildren, Dalina Carpenter, Allen Moore, McKenzie Godfrey, Christian Moore, II., and Terry Mae Godfrey; as well as four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Brendan, Kaylynn, and Kaleb.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Terry Allen Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery – West.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:15 PM, at the funeral home prior to the service.
