Susan Wilson, 74, wife of Jim Wilson, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Col. James H. Harley and Dorothy Wilson Harley.
Susan worked many jobs throughout her career but she spent most of her career as a CNA at AnMed Hospital in Anderson.
Additionally, she was the co-owner of Bailes Shoe Repair. Their family business for many years located in Anderson, Pendleton, and ultimately Central, SC.
Susan shared many joyful moments with her beloved husband, Jim. Together they embraced the holiday spirit by acting as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus in Pendleton for many years, bringing cheer to countless families.
Susan also loved to sing in the choir at church and ministered to those around her daily.
In her spare time, Susan loved dancing, playing mini-golf, and riding motorcycles with her husband and the Family Ill. Susan was a member of Anderson County ABATE, the Queen Mother of the Red Hat Biker Ladies of the Blue Moon Saloon, and also a standing member of the Ladies of the Detroit Elks Lodge #13. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by her son Jamie Wilson (Amy), of Clemson, SC, her daughter Mary Jo Burke (Shawn) of Detroit; along with her grandchildren Adrien Dunn (Destiny), of Lynchburg VA. Jameson, Jaxx, and Amelia Wilson of Clemson. Ciara, Tara and Gina Burke of Detroit, and eight great-grandchildren, Brenden (15), Kennedy (11), Blake (7), Amelia (4), Conway (3), Gavin (3), Natalia (2), and Chief (10 months); as well as her only nephew Danny Smith (Peggy) and son JP. Duncan of Detroit.
A Celebration of Life will take place on October 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM Duckett - Robinson Funeral Home in Central, South Carolina.
