Sybil Gillespie

Sybil Jennings Gillespie, devoted wife of Fred Calvin Gillespie, Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2018, at her home.

Born in Easley, a daughter to the late William Wesley Jennings and the late Maude Leslie Jennings, she was a loving and caring homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and embroidering.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, is a son, Fred C. Gillespie, Jr. (Frances) of Gray Court; a daughter, Sandra Gillespie-Brothers of Norcross, GA; grandchildren, Fred C. Gillespie, III (Denise), Sandra Layne (Brent), Sam McLeod (Trina); and several great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Billy Jennings, Doyle Jennings, and Ray Jennings; sisters, Clara Mosteller, Sue Dalton, Nell Aiken, and Lois Day; and a grandson, Dan Gillespie.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018, at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the church.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choosing.
