Sylvia Doris Stogner Deal, 66, of 112 Beaver Run, died Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Norwood, N.C., Mrs. Deal was a daughter of the late Banuiel Jerome and Mattie Honey Stogner. She graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Deal retired from Leath Women's Correctional Institute where she taught home economics. She was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church where she belonged to the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
Surviving are one daughter Crystal Yvonne Hathcock and her husband, Tony, of the home; two brothers, Henry Stogner of Norwood, N.C. and Harry Stogner, of Oakboro, N.C.; two sisters Janet Caudle, of Oakboro, N.C. and Rilla Furr, of Albemarle, N.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond. She was predeceased by her husband, Gil Booth; and a son, Travis Gil.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at Brushy Creek Baptist Church with the Reverends Jim Spencer and Rodney Graham officiating. Escort of Honor will be the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30-4:00 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service.
The committal service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Norwood Cemetery in Norwood, N.C.
Memorials may be made to Brushy Creek Baptist Church Mission Trips, 100 Clay Street, Easley, S.C. 29642.
