Mrs. Sylvia Jo Ann Roper Ross, 79, of 311 South Fishtrap Road, Greenville, loving wife of the late Wallace Edward Ross, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Jo Ann was born in Greenville on January 22, 1936 to Bessie Lillian Wilson Roper and the late Walter Andrew Roper. She graduated from Easley High School in 1954 and went to the Ringling College of Art and Design. She loved to paint, and worked as a painter. She was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church in Greenville.
In addition to her mother, Jo Ann is survived by three sons; Craig Ross (Tammy), of Greenville; Marty Ross (Shannon), of Atlanta, GA; and Andy Ross (Angie), of Westminster. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Michael Ross, Miriam Ross, Laura Ross, Brandon Bundy, Matthew Ross, Drew Ross, Luke Ross, Sean Gilstrap, and Ryan Gilstrap.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, conducted by the Rev. Marty Price. Interment will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642.
The family is at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Providence Care Hospice, 202 Wall Street, Piedmont, SC 29673.
