Mrs. Sylvia Ann Turner Splawn, 84, wife of the late Hoyt J. Splawn, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Born in Spartanburg County, a daughter of the late Fred Wallace Turner and the late Fannie Champion Turner, Mrs. Splawn was a graduate of Chesnee High School and retired from the Pickens County Department of Disabilities and Special Needs with over twenty years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.

Sylvia loved the outdoors, flower gardening and traveling, but her greatest love was for her family and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Surviving are her two sons, Robert Splawn (Michelle) of Liberty, and Roger Splawn (Debbie) of Blair, OK; her daughter, Dolly S. Jackson (Theron) of Central; a sister, Peggy Jolley of Mayo, SC; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Splawn was predeceased by four brothers, Roy Turner, James Turner, John Turner and Albert Turner; and three sisters, Catherine Mitchell, Betty Gurley and Colleen Allison.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2023 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
