T. Grady Painter, 84, of Clemson and widower of Lucy Davis Painter, died Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Hospice House of Anderson.

He was born in Spartanburg a son of the late William H. and Molly Hawkins Painter. He was a retired police officer with Spartanburg City Police Department and was assigned by SLED to Clemson University. He was Mason and a Shriner, a veteran of WWII and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a daughter Pattie Watkins and her husband Mike of Anderson, SC; son, Tim Painter and his wife Ann of Clinton, SC; brothers, Clarence Painter and Bill Painter both of Spartanburg; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Monday in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg.
